That mess of wires on the table reminds me of the mess I am going to have to deal with when I put a new stereo in the Mini this weekend.

I recently purchased a 2004 Cooper. The factory Harman Kardon stereo died (seems to be a common issue) and the PO replaced it with an ebay special head unit and amp and completely butchered the wiring during the install (and all the wires are different takes on brown with a white stripe). It currently sounds like an iPhone played across a football field. I am replacing it with a Pioneer head unit and 300W Clarion amp.

Also what is that prototype thing? The red one with number 33.

I forgot what it was called, but it was shipped in from england. It had a honda civic type R motor in it (K-series)
There was another one hidden way back in the warehouse with a gsxr 1000 motor in it.

I have a mechanical question...
...did the person who designed the Chrysler 2.7 V6 ever work on an engine that had already been installed in the vehicle?

No... and if you think that has improved after the Fiat merger...
Hahahaha
Edit: ...also no.
Edit again: that is also an interference engine and has a timing belt too, have fun.

Hahaha, probably not! And im sure neither did the designers at nissan when it came to their engines.
designers rarely consult with the actual people who will work on their cars, let alone the engineers who will turn the drawings to reality...
the Design process is so amazing, but feels so lacking considering its all aesthetic only. Someday, i want to design and engineer together all while keeping the rules of the NHTSA and DOT up on the wall to remind me of boundaries.

No, it has a timing chain...
...that has to be removed to change the water pump.

Really? Their documentation needs some work too then.
... hmm, water pump... water pump... nope, not seeing one of those either. I did find the turbo-encabulator though :)

Might depend on the year too.

Brian Lock sounds familiar. I believe the client bought the car from him!
this Integra has an H22 in it!
its awesome to drive. Brake bias can be adjusted on the fly and the accumulator really helps when pulling those Gs
